"
W is such stuff as dreams are made on"

We're all a-twitter here at
W headquarters!
We've just received choice tickets for John Ashcroft's new musical,
The Phantom of Lost Liberty, a semi-autobiographical tale set in the old west, about "Johnny" and "Katie." He's a young religious fanatic-turned-gunslinger-turned-lawman, and she's his sweetheart, a former Florida State official trying to live down a sordid election scandal.
Our favorite part comes when the dewy couple unites to sing the lovely duet, "I Always Suspected It Was You."
Makes us mist up every time.
And hasn't
this been a banner week for the
agitprop AG? First there was his triumphal appearance before Congress, and now his unveiling of the new Department of Justice emblem: a kangaroo rampant upon a field of legislators.
Speaking of hallucinations, our dream-Prez has had a few of his own lately, as he relates in "
A Man of Conviction," about a nightmare in which he is subjected to treatment that is downright un-American. Or used to be.
And oh yes, this judicial-entertainment note: the other day we witnessed Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas talking at the same time that
uber-Justice Antonin Scalia was drinking a glass of water. Now
that's artistry!
Until next week, keep looking for the bluebird, but don't stand under it.
Hank
