Subject: A topsy-turdy day
I'll tell you folks the God's honest truth: I wouldn' know the Rule of Law from Rula Lenska, but I sure know when I'm bein' flim-flammed, and this of them times is one.
Up to now ever'thin' has gone real good. Cousin John, over to the Fox Network, jumped out of the startin' gate with his call for me, and - whooeee, man! - didn' he spook them anchors like a herd n'a hurricane. 'Fore you knew it, Rather, Jennings, Shaw and the rest of them boys just jumped right on that ol' band wagon. Then Katherine did just like she was told - even better. And Jeb did some powerful phone-callin'real quiet-like, and it looked like ever'thin' was goin' just fine. Then them damned Democrats on the state bench had to act like they was Northerners, for God's sake.
Now we got to drop back to what Jeb calls "plan two" over to the Legislature, unless them damned Democrats figure out some way to gum that up, too.
Anyway, we're still hangin' in here - spirits up, and all. Although Jeb did say one thing that kind'a confused me a little: after the State Court ruling, Karen made a toast, sayin' "may the best man win!", and Jeb muttered somethin' like "Sure, why not? Everything else is going to hell".
I wish somebody would hurry up and tell me that ever'thin's gonna' be all right.
Your worried friend,
W
